Shakedown sail on the River Blackwater
No trial today as the conditions were too challenging but our crew went out to seek the upper limits of the boat. Weather reports gave us force 4, gusting into 5 but were short of what we found out on the water. With sustained force 6, with some gusts at force very close to force 8, we were really going to find out what the Macgregor 26X could do. Still waiting for Summer...
She didn't disappoint, her upwind performance was ok, given her hull, and we were able to make good headway sailing close to the wind. It was hard work mind you. Only a few other boats were on the water for company, we didn't get pictures, as too much was going on, but i do remember seeing a racing cruiser, who was sailing along our track aft of us, leap over the waves. Pretty hardcore.
