Our yacht Katerok is now back on the water after her re-fit

So Katerok, our Macgregor 26X is now back at home on her mooring. After her re-fit, it was my plan to run through all her new systems and check all the maintenance work and she didn’t let me down. The new AIS Class B+ is integrated into the Garmin cockpit display showing me all the commercial boats and some sailing boats operating nearby. It is a great system that only now is getting to be cost effective for all boats, with AIS, GPS integrated VHF radio sets available at a reasonable price point. Very useful stuff from a safety and collision avoidance perspective.

Quite a bit of work was needed to clear her for commercial use, and she is now rated for Category D waters, meaning from Clacton Pier down to Whitstable on the North Kent coast.
